The
AMASS platform is built on a powerful associative database
implementation. While keeping the hardware design simple
and general, AMASS will support the following applications
domains:

associative
database search, including XML based databases
(LCI)

natural
language text search (LCI, iSOCO, VCR)

semantic
search for individual profiles. Automatic interpretation
of natural language questions and search and formulation
of corresponding answers (iSOCO, LCI)

search
in multimedia management systems (MPEG7), including
generalization to content based image feature representations
and search (VCR, LCI)
Other
potential applications dmains requiring only a short
adaptation time and a constrained devlopment investment
include:
- genomics
and proteomics
- biometrics
applications
